Just a couple of minutes from Paseo Las Huacas is a picturesque, verdant mountain town,
"El Valle". El Valle de Anton, known simply as El Valle has a geologically unique setting- it's
nestled in the second largest extinct volcano crater in the world- a five by three mile crater
created when a volcano blew its top off five million years ago. The result was a lovely steep
valley surrounded by jagged mountain peaks and rich volcanic soil that gives way to flowers
and verdant forest as a result. El Valle also boasts a near perfect year-round spring climate.
El Valle has lodging options for every budget from hostals to fine small hotels. There are
two new upscale hotels, La Casa de Lourdes, a Tuscany-style retreat with some of the most
beautiful views anywhere and a famous gourmet restaurant "The Canopy Lodge", and a
world-class eco-lodge for nature lovers and birders.
Along the Pacific Coast just outside Paseo Las Huacas, begin a string of pretty beaches
of white sand and sapphire blue waters. This lovely coastal area of Panama is home to two
full service resorts, Central America's only beach front golf course, international hotels,
equestrian clubs, villas and a RV park. Gorgeous million dollar homes dot the coastline. This
is preferred location for the vacation homes of Panama’s wealthiest families. The names of
the more well known beaches and beach communities are Punta Chame, Gorgona, Coronado,
Rio Mar, Santa Clara and Playa Blanca.
